Inputs and Outputs

We will start explaining the main Inputs first.

Keyboards:

It is the tool we use to insert words, numbers, and so many instructions to the computer.

Pointing Devices:

They control the position and the features of the pointer found on the computer screen. Some examples of new pointing devices include Mouses and Touchscreens.

Microphones:

The main role of a Microphone is to record sounds and translate them to data that can be read by the computer.

Now let's talk about the main output devices.

Monitors:

They are the most used output devices among all. Their main function is to visualize the information given by the computer as images or videos.

Printers:

Printers translate information processed by the computer and present the information

on a piece of paper.

Speakers:

Speakers are output devices that can translate audio information from the computer into sounds that

humans can understand.

Types of computers

Supercomputers:

These are the most advanced machines in the globe that can manage to do trillions of operations per second. They are only owned by the biggest companies in the world like Nasa because they are super expensive. The range of their speed is measured between 100-900 MIPS*. Supercomputers are used in scientific researches, nuclear energy, weather forecasting etc...

Mainframe Computers:

They are a large computers with a huge memory and multiple advanced processors that can do way more tasks compared to normal computers. Their speed can be measured starting from 30 MIPS* up to 100 MIPS*. Only relatively big companies may need to own their own mainframe computers to store their data.

Micro Computers:

Basically these are computers that we see in our every-day life. They can preform the tasks of a normal user with ease. The range of their speed is measured between 10-30 MIPS*. They are considerably cheap compared to the two types above.
